Tasting notes
08/12/2009
(53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petit Verdot) Bright, opaque colour. Nose of liquorice and spice. Seems more backward than 2005 now. Spicy palate, with slightly more alcohol evident. Powerful, with less obvious charm than '05. Very structured, with crisp acidity and savoury, mineral, iodine-tinged fruit and chalky tannins. Ageworthy and long, with an oaky, savoury finish. Very good. Drink 2014-29. (18 points)
