Surprisingly few bodeagas in Argentina bottle Tempranillo as a varietal wine. This one from José Zuccardi is seductively oaked, with sweet raspberry and wild strawberry fruit, and a silky texture. Drink up to 2009.

Very rich nose, complex aromas of ripe black fruit and hint of chocolate. Wonderfully balanced on the palate, elegant concentration of black cherry and blackberry characters, great depth. Drinking well now.

This displays aromas of smoky oak with an underlying palate of chocolatey ripe, strawberryish fruit complemented by a nip of acidity and smooth tannins.
