Leeuwin Estate was founded in 1972, the result of an extensive search by Robert Mondavi for prime vineyard plots in Australia. The most recent Prelude Vineyard Chardonnay, it%u2019s quite showy with noticeable but not overbearing butterscotch aromas, cool melon fruit and pineapple. The palate is broad, laden with succulent New World fruit, bolstered by pleasing smoky touches, and flecks of minerality.
