This winery's Greenock Shiraz won Decanter's Australia's Red Rhône Varietals trophy last year. The Gomersal is another beauty: roast nut, chocolate and violet nose, then a vibrant fruit palate with a cocoa finish. Drink 2009-15. £21.20

Pleasant mixed fruit nose. Restrained use of oak. A warm, berry fruit compote, some toasty oak. Attractive, easy. Drink up to 2013. (15.33 points)
