Serious rich, red, sweet, dark fruits with lots of wood. Substantial fruits, complex red wine with great depth and good use of wood. Very long. Drink 2008-12.

A stunning Douro red from an 18ha estate, adjoining Quinta do Noval, with vines up to 70 years old. Almost black in colour, it has a violet, blackcurrant-leaf nose, and soft elegance over dense extraction of fruit. Fabulous over five years. Drink up to 2010.
