With many years in the wine trade under his belt, Rainer Wess struck out on his own, producing the first wines under his name in 2003. This is a lean, driven Riesling, with fantastic purity of fruit and a cool, mineral core couched in ripe apricot and citrus-tinged fruit. Lovely. (17 points) £12.
