Deep black cherry fruits dominate the palate with gentle oak hints. Good ripeness and richness on the palate, the tannin are very ripe, with an impressive, elegant, finish. This Merlot will definitely have a long life.
Big, mouth-filling fleshy wine with black cherry fruit, plenty of soft spicy oak, and the balanced performance one expects from a Shafer Merlot. Give it at least a year, but it should be at its best in 4-5 years.
