This is an appealing year for dry white Graves and dry whites in general. A cross between 2003 and 2004, there’s the fruit weight and expression of a ripe vintage but with better acidity levels and lower pHs than in 2003. On the other hand, there’s not the crisp, linear freshness of 2004. Stylistically, winemaking directives also had a say with some pushing for extra ripeness and richer, more tropical flavours and others reining back to stay in the citrus spectrum. James Lawther MW
