Noval and Fladgate declare 2007 Port

Quinta do Noval and the Fladgate Partnership houses have declared the 2007 Port vintage, in line with Niepoort and Symington Family Estates.

The decision by Taylor’s, Fonseca and Croft’s to declare the 2007 had been expected after the declaration by other leading houses more than two weeks ago.

The three producers waited until their traditional declaration date, St George’s Day, to announce their decision.

Likewise, Quinta do Noval and Silval – both owned by Axa Millésimes – have been declared, as has Quinta da Romaneira, owned by a group of investors.

Axa director general and Romaneira spokesperson Christian Seely described the wines as elegant, with lovely purity of fruit, and very fine and silky tannins.

Adrian Bridge, managing director of The Fladgate Partnership, has called 2007 ‘is a vintage which shows elegance and poise backed with impressive structure and excellent balance which will give enjoyment for many years to come.’
