Co-op, Irresistable Malbec, Bío Bío Valley, Chile, 2015

For a steak- and wallet- friendly Malbec, it's hard to go past this one, from Chile's Bio Bio Valley. It's filled with dense, herbal and peppery blackberry fruit, vanilla spice from the 14 months in French oak, and just enough acidity to keep things fresh on the palate. It's not overly complex, but a bright, inviting style that trumps many of a similar price from this grape's homeland over the Andes.
