Domaine Sylvain Dussort, Cuvée des Coutures, Bourgogne, 2013

With Burgundy prices going through the roof, generic Bourgogne offers excellent value for money, as this example shows. Sylvain Dussort took over the family domaine in 1982 and today he looks after 6.5 hectares of which half is part of the Bourgogne Blanc appellation. He is very proud of his Bourgogne Blanc, and rightly so. A sophisticated wine,  classy with a gently oaked intensity combined with ripe apple and buttery characters.
