Saint Clair Family Estate, Founders 78 Series Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough 2015

I am always impressed by the quality of St Clair's wines, and this is no different. Intense gooseberry and stone fruits are backed up by a zesty freshness and minerally acidity. The addition of 1% each of Riesling and Grüner Veltliner seems to act as a subtle seasoning to boost the freshness levels through the roof and help to temper the pungency of the Sauvignon. Delicious.
