Domaine Bitouzet-Prieur

Stephen Brook

Tasting: Meursault 1er Cru 2010

Reticent oaky pear nose. Fine attack, aided by a hint of C02, creamy, spicy, very tight and taut, with a phenolic texture that adds complexity The fruit concentration is impressive and there’s ample minerality too. This should go the distance. Good length.

Gearoid Devaney

Tasting: Meursault 1er Cru 2010

Exotic fruit nose but not very showy. The palate has smoky flavours with almost whisky-like notes and some dry herbs, plus the richness and minerals you would expect from this royal terroir.

Steven Spurrier

Tasting: Meursault 1er Cru 2010

Fine florality and restrained dry herbs and citrussy-honeyed nose. Quite rich, riper fruit than most, and quite fleshy for Perrieres, but the wine still has the stony element and this will come out more as it develops; a really good, classy wine.
