Domaine Latour-Giraud

Stephen Brook

Tasting: Meursault 1er Cru 2010

Delicate but toasty nose, pears, hazelnuts. Rich, very concentrated, dense and dramatic, with considerable power and weight. A bit over-assertive now, but there’s appealing minerality on the mid-palate and ample freshness to balance the density and power. There’s real grandeur here. Good length.

Gearoid Devaney

Tasting: Meursault 1er Cru 2010

Open nose, some citrus and yellow apple. The palate is clean with high acid and a lean structure, with some stone fruits and citrus in the middle. The backbone is here but the wine has not filled out yet. Good potential.

Steven Spurrier

Tasting: Meursault 1er Cru 2010

Rich, quite oily/phenolic nose, still some toast from the oak, more lifted on the palate, rich and citrussy, but very good potential with the richness to show more complexity as it ages. A bit broad overall and has not the complexity of the best, but a good wine for the mid term.
