Les Charmes

Stephen Brook

Tasting: Meursault 1er Cru 2010

Dumb nose. Broad, supple, quite concentrated, a touch heavy and lacking in flair, but there’s good underlying acidity though it doesn’t translate into persistence and drive. Well made, middle of the road Charmes. Quite good length

Gearoid Devaney

Tasting: Meursault 1er Cru 2010

Ripe peach, stone fruits, some citrus with a touch of creamy oak. The palate is broad with lots of stone fruits and a toasty oak character. Nice minerality and good acid, with a long finish.

Tasting: Meursault 1er Cru 2010

Fine dry honey and dry herb nose, with lifted floral fruits. Lemony overtones and the acidity is present but the vigour of the wine dominates, and this will show very well once the acidity is absorbed, but it is too present now.
