Chateau Montelena was founded in 1882 by Alfred Tubbs and is now directed by Bo Barrett. It is situated in Napa Valley, California.
The vineyard is comprised of varied terrain, from flat to steep hillsides. The area has diversified soil profile which results in aromatic, rich and full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon. The Zinfandel comes from vines planted in volcanic soil, combined with 10 year old vines in alluvial soil, which gives more of a spicy flavour.
