Tenuta delle Terre Nere, Etna Bianco, Sicily, Italy, 2015

While Etna reds are often described as the new 'sexy wines' of Italy, the whites remain unknown and undiscovered. In 2005, Terre Nere decided to stop adding white grapes to the Etna Rosso and instead use them to make a white wine from the local varieties: Carricante, Catarratto, Grecanico, Inzolia and Minnella. Crisp and fresh in style expressing an individulaity of terroir and plenty of minerality. Polished and slender, with some savoury characters and a serious bone dry finish that lingers on the tongue. It’s a wine that should develop further in bottle.
