Reschke, Empyrean, Coonawarra, South Australia, 2004

  • Grape Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Drink: 2012 - 2020+

Roger Jones

Tasting: Coonawarra & Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon

Dark and brooding on the nose with a touch of espresso. Fruit-driven, lively, vanilla oak hitting out. Tannins still there and this must be a wine to put away. It’s eight years old and still brooding away. Cannot profess to mark this wine on its greatness but love the soft, clean, espresso ice cream finish.

Pierre Mansour

Tasting: Coonawarra & Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon

Deep, garnet. Magnificent nose, fresh, fine, mellow, exotic spice, cigar box. Full, crisp acidity, lively, fresh, intense, very persistent, lovely tannins. Peaking.

Anthony Rose

Tasting: Coonawarra & Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon

Dense in colour, fine evolved leathery aromas, with a savoury, almost European balance, dark berry fruits underscored by notes of soy and balsam on the palate with real richness and finesse.
