Winter rains ended the drought. This and a temperate growing season produced an animated, really expressive 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 49% Shiraz blend. Reducing the new oak and American component to 80% and 19% respectively doubtless helped too. Vivid blueberry, bilberry and blackcurrant fruit with plum skin tannins and a grunt of black pepper let rip on a juicy, perfumed palate of great persistence. Lovely freshness and immediacy with the bones to age.
