Grandes Vinos y Viñedos, Valdemadera Gran Reserva 2010
From the Aragon province in Spain, where big and alcoholic wines have been replaced with lighter, fresher and fruitier wines. A blend of Garnacha, Tempranillo and Cariñena, this 6 year old offering is showing some development with notes of ripe blackberries and a hint of coffee beans. The palate is velvety and rich with plenty of concentrated fruit, balanced by a freshness and well-integrated spicy oak. This is crying out for roast lamb.
