Villa Mangiacane

Richard Baudains

Tasting: Chianti Classico Riserva

Subtle, complex nose, with dried flowers and white pepper. Great structure and complexity on the palate, concentrated but agile. Punchy and long. Great prospects. Lovely wine.

Emily O'Hare

Tasting: Chianti Classico Riserva

Smells like copper pennies, like hands after coins. Warm, sweet mouth feel. The fruit is ripe and soft, super curvy wine, acidity is present but not pronounced. A saline quality to the wine, almost salty. Ageing potential? enjoyable now, not one to keep.

Michael Palij

Tasting: Chianti Classico Riserva

Traditional nose with dusty wood, red fruit, and a balsamic character. Lots of spice, leather, and black fruit underneath, fine tannins from oak, impressive length. Restrained, high-altitude fruit and delicate oak lending structure and complexity.
