Yabby Lake Vineyard

Andrew Jefford

Tasting: Tasmania & Victoria Pinot Noir

Deep red. Full, rich, relatively voluptuous Pinot; truffley and deep. Soft, full, rich, extractive, oaky: the foot is really down on the throttle here. I’m glad someone is doing this and it’s all ENORMOUS fun, but I wouldn’t steer purists in this direction. This is deep-pile, double-cream, super-size-me Mornington Pinot. I like it.

Roger Jones

Tasting: Tasmania & Victoria Pinot Noir

Controlled, serious wine with dark berry fruit, cherries and loganberries, leaving a beautiful texture on the palate. Does close slightly quick, but leaves a very delicate aftertaste, certainly good with salt marsh Welsh lamb.

Alessandro Marchesan

Tasting: Tasmania & Victoria Pinot Noir

Pungent and intense with lovely aromatic notes of raspberries and black cherries. Rich and full bodied, spicy and structured. Big and bold with a long aftertaste.
