Bouchard Pere et Fils

Michael Schuster

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Closed, edgy, mineral to smell; medium-full, finely tannic, gently ripe fruit to taste but, long in flavour, finely aromatic, and long to finish, fine quality but youthfully austere. Finesse here and 1er Cru scope clear; sweet and harmonious in a restrained style – needs time, but will be very good.

Steven Spurrier

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Robust deep red. Quite earthy red fruits, fine concentration and good expression on the palate, tannins still a bit green, but good vigour and good fruit; still some hard edges that need to soften, but good future.

Sebastian Thomas

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Appealing, fine, fresh strawberry and red cherry nose. Good fruit density on the palate, rounded and ripe, with good definition. Fine, present tannins and good density on the long, sweet fruit finish; excellent.
