Michael Schuster

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Youthful red fruit; nicely balanced, with clear ripe fruit, a firm-ish tannin but an overall fleshiness and sweetness and good, light fruit length; clear 1er Cru complexity. Stylish Volnay, elegant and fine and complete. Very nice, needs a few years

Steven Spurrier

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Fine deep colour, young rim, and natural concentration of black fruits on the nose, fine ripeness and vigour on the palate. Very good length and elegance of expression, lovely texture, depth and a very good future.

Sebastian Thomas

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Appealing, gentle, spiced plum nose. Fine, persistent and quite dense sour red cherry fruit on the palate, marred a little by biting, if reasonalby fine, tannin. Quite marked acid, decent finish, but lacks a bit of vim.
