Pierre Morey

Michael Schuster

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Fresh, youthful nose; elegant balance but in a fairly austere style; light fine fruit, marked dry tannin, finesse, yes, 1er Cru quality, yes, but within a long term, austere structure; will this ever harmonise? Not sure.

Steven Spurrier

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Good deep red with violet rim, very good expression of black summer fruits on the nose and the same black cherry and blackcurrant fruits flow through to the palate. This is a beautifully structured wine that has kept all the aromatic qualities of Volnay with no exaggeration of fruit, just vineyard expression and clarity.

Sebastian Thomas

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010

Perfumed, slightly cooked strawberries with plums and blackcurrants. Lifted by slightly sour fruit on palate, medium, fine tannins, decent length, and slightly drying tannins.
