Tasting: Bierzo Mencia

A tad reduced on the nose, masks the fruit dimension. Hard and tough impression on the palate restricts the enjoyment on the palate.

Intense, quite meaty, with toasty aromas. Powerful, quite warm, with balancing acidity and suave but abundant tannins. Nice overall expression, of a different wine with recognizable quality.

Subtle red fruit, cedar aromas. Dense rich attack, black fruits, liquorice and leather with a hot finish. Needs more freshness to lighten mid palate. Long, hot finish, with broad grip of tannin.
