Domaines & Vineyards

Andrew Jefford

Tasting: Western Australia Chardonnay

Deep greengold. Sweet, fresh, grainy; with soft, lush, malty fruits. A slightly funky note, too, which some will like and some won’t. On the palate, this is a very generous, beautifully layered wine, structured and deep; impressive to taste, but more importantly charming to drink: full, gratifying and nourishing, packed with nuts, wild mushrooms and the other banquet-like allusions which Chardonnay alone seems capable of generating.

Roger Jones

Tasting: Western Australia Chardonnay

Has a lovely savoury nose, not forced just gentle and exciting. Alcohol is well balanced, and lovely acidity, this is a wine to age further, offering classic top chardonnay qualities. Give it 4 years min, then you will have a very classy aged wine which will have toned down.

Alessandro Marchesan

Tasting: Western Australia Chardonnay

Elegant, complex and intense barrel fermented/batonage like nose with toasty oak character and ripe stone fruit. Creamy texture, wonderful acidity, ripe citrus fruit and long melon aftertaste.
