Mike Ritchie

Tasting: Bierzo Mencia

Smoky, mocha and meaty notes dominate on entry. Oak and fruit have integrated well, pleasant and balanced overall impression, still tight, will soften and improve.

Pedro Ballesteros

Tasting: Bierzo Mencia

Restrained, elegant, opens up with parsimony, in fruity notes with some development. The oak is well integrated, enhancing the overall fruit expression. Nice balance in palate, not very concentrated but delicate, clean and expressive. Persistent finish.

Sarah Jane Evans

Tasting: Bierzo Mencia

Fine blend of floral and fruit aromatics, with a note of mint and garrigue. Equally finely blended palate: elegant silky dark fruit, with well balanced tannin, a cool impression of mint from the oak, and a long, complex finish with a slick of warm alcohol.
