Ageing for 12 months in French oak barriques gives this powerful Malbec a cedar character on the nose and contributes to firm, supportive tannins on the palate. A core of black fruit and liquorice has impressive persistence onto the finish. The alcohol, although contributing potency, could do with a bit more restraint.
