Just bottled, this classically styled dry Riesling is pale and interesting with fruit pastille and floral notes on the nose. Fresh and unoaked, there’s plenty of cut and thrust on the palate with grapefruit, lemon and lime with a touch of cucumber and nectarine lurking purposefully in the background. This is mid-weight and appealingly balanced and pure. Good now, but lots of potential to reveal even greater complexity and depth for the next several years. Arguably a notch above the 2016.
