Château Beauchêne, Premier Terroir, Côtes du Rhône, 2012

Fragrant fresh red cherries with a hint of herbs and an appealing note of orange peel. Barely noticeable tannins deliver a creamy texture to the warm, generous palate which is enhanced by notes of vanilla, chocolate and nutmeg. A bright line of acidity brings pleasing vitality and freshness. Ambitious but it works.
