Once one of Italy’s most widely planted varieties, Tintilia was abandoned after World War II due to its low yields. Today a few growers are reviving it, and it’s certainly one to seek out. This example, grown organically at 600m, has a lovely nose of red and black fruit, while the lengthy palate is more savoury but still supported by plenty of fresh berries and refreshing acidity.
