Made for The Wine Society by La Rioja Alta (see its 890 cuvée, left). Selected to charm drinkers who love the seductive smoothness of a Rioja that has had some five years in the cellar before release. Unlike so many of the wines you find today, this has had all the rough edges smoothed off by time. Lovely.
