Szamorodni is an adjective which translates as ‘made by itself’. The name refers to the fact that healthy and botrytised bunches are harvested and vinified together. The nose suggests a sweet Tokaji, but the palate is dry, like a Sherry, with crystallised apricot and honey. It’s viscous, rich and powerful enlivened by zesty acidity.
