From the limestone soils of the marginal climate of Waitaki, this is a succulent, silky and mellow Pinot with very fine chalky tannins. While 2011 was a tricky vintage across many parts of New Zealand, Jim Jerram and Jeff Sinnott have crafted an elegant, pure and linear expression. The rim is starting to garnet, but this is not fully mature - it is, however, in a delectable stage of its life, offering sweet red cherry fruit and a savoury, smoky edge that lingers.
