Tasting: Marlborough Pinot Noir

A little shy and understated on the nose, but palate appeals. Attractive red fruit, with undertones of spicy oaky and flowers. Pleasing austerity and quite good length.

Taut, delicate floral perfume, like an English garden. Ripe raspberry and blackberry gives way to savoury and mineral notes, but finish is driven by brawny acidity. Well-judged oak, but mid length.

Fresh, lightly spicy, floral and raspberry aromas. Soft, fresh, summer pudding fruit on the palate with touches of spice, but not much substance or length.
