<p>This inaugural vintage of Vi&ntilde;a Cobos Chardonnay already shows considerable class. Grapes are picked at night to preserve freshness and fermented with native yeast, then spend 12 months in new French oak. Ripe yellow fruit aromas on the nose, with pineapple and creamy banana, plus a white floral note. A big, textured palate but balancing acidity keeps it fresh, with ripe lemon citrus and some nice toastiness. Oak is present, but this is still young - will be interesting to see how it develops over the next decade.</p>
