Though it bears the Kalimna name, this is a multi-regional blend from the McLaren Vale, the Barossa Valley, Padthaway, Wrattonbully and Robe. It’s also a cracking example of warm climate Shiraz, with deeply saturated colour and a vanilla and coffee bean nose. Plush and sleek, this has a fine line of acidity amid punchy dark cherry fruit and savoury tapenade, with a lick of creosote on the finish. The tannins are sweet and generous, giving a languid glycerol texture. Good length, nice drop.
