The siren call of Sauvignon Blanc is muted with old oak, but this keeps the long flavours precise. There’s a lot going on. Lean, sharp and flinty on entry, with hints of nougat among grassy fruit, it initially shows stiff formality, but slowly the fleshy layers of lemon pith and white nectarine reveal themselves. Look again and it has changed, its husky voice drawn into longer, more alluring notes. A very adult texture becomes more pronounced than the fruit. Dry, with presence and pout.
