This first release from the dry grown Marmont Vineyard, Blewitt Springs, on deep Maslin Sand, bodes well for young guns Charlie Seppelt and Skye Salter. Dark and fleshy, but vivacious and nuanced, with juicy blackberry fruit, Turkish Delight/Negroni lift, pink grapefruit zest and bite and fine, dynamic tannins. Fermented in a 130-year-old wax lined concrete open fermenter, with 18% whole bunch and matured for 9 months in old French Puncheons.
