Peter Lehmann, Margaret Semillon, Barossa Valley, 2010

90
Tasted by: James Button
Semillon grapes grown in the hot Barossa Valley are picked early to avoid over-ripeness. Once fermented, the wine is bottled and cellared for five years before release. It has a fragrant, waxy nose followed by savoury flavours of pear and tangy green apple. There is some citrus and subtle honeyed development too, and a good weight to the mouthfeel with a refreshing finish. Great with pork.
