A very warm, dry, early season with low yields. This is burgundy in colour with a garnet rim, offering attractive liquorice and clove scents with those signature kelp and iodine tones. This blend of 95% Shiraz and 5% Malbec fails to sustain its sweet and sour caramelised plum and rhubarb fruit, however; spearing acidity makes for an unbalanced, lean and disappointing finish for a much hyped vintage. Aged for 12 months in French (70%) and American (30%) oak, 40% new.
