This certified biodynamic Chenin is one to win over Margaret River Chardonnay drinkers. There are plenty of points of interest: wild-ferment funk, struck match, cheesecloth, sea foam and some smoky oak there, too. It’s a bold wine, and the quality of the fruit can handle the winemaking (on lees in oak for 11 months with 18 months' bottle age). Glycerine-like on the palate, the glassy phenolics glide over the tongue, nudging into the nooks and crannies of the mouth to provide a complete service to the palate. The core of citrus-driven fruit has a real sweetness and purity, which stands up to the oak and dances to craft intrigue and a very stylish finish. This is a different iteration of the variety but it's tasty and deserves a place among Western Australia's best.
