Josef Jamek, who died in 2011, was a pioneer of single-vineyard wines from the Wachau, and Klaus was his best known wine. The Jamek wines are sometimes softer than their neighbours'. This wine has reserved apricot aromas and a touch of citrus too. The attack is lean and precise, but for my taste there's only moderate acidity and a touch of sweetness that robs the finish of some persistence.
