The organic Reinisch estate is best known for its fine red wines, but this single-vineyard Zierfandler, which is aged in 700-litre barrels and amphorae, is outstanding too. There's ample richness on the nose and palate, which is weighty and concentrated. It's a touch austere, which is not unusual in a youthful wine with structure, tension, and grip. Good length. The 2017 'S', a blend of Zierfandler and Rotgipfler, is excellent too, if more opulent and generous.
