Strogosia is a Bulgarian grape created in 1976 by crossing Bouquet and Villar Blanc. It's smokey on the nose with candied dark and red cherry, dried rose petals plus a hint of graphite. Dark spices, tobacco leaves, burnt cocoa beans and cassis on the palate with fine-grained tannins. Lovely acidity provides a lift to the warming alcohol. Prunes and pu-erh herbal characters linger on the finish.
