As Stag’s Hollow’s vineyards are in the relatively cool sub-region of Okanagan Falls, the estate purchases Syrah grapes from a warmer site on the West Bench of Osoyoos. Dark red fruit rather than black, it offers fleshy cherries in a mid-weight package, and there is an attractive hint of green in the 2019, with fragrant notes of sage, thyme, mint and cinnamon. The tannins show a bit of grit but are sufficiently padded, and there's plenty of acidity to carry the wine for the next five years.
