Buyer Toby Morrhall reckons this is the best Chilean Cabernet for the The Society's label that he has ever sourced, and it is an absolute bargain for the quality, from the excellent 2018 vintage. Made by Concha y Toro, it's powerful stuff, bursting from the glass with aromas of blackcurrants, damson and lead pencil notes. The well-extracted palate offers more inky purple fruit, along with exotic sandalwood and menthol oak notes, raspy tannins and a hint of dried mango on the finish. Delicious now but hold a few bottles back for when it gains more savoury maturity.
