Showing savoury, tertiary aromas, this still possesses a remarkably deep core, lingering acidity and delightful flavours of plum and prune, together with hints of liquorice to finish. Amazingly fresh and elegant despite its age. 1982 was the fifth vintage at Château Clarke, and along with 1945 and 1961 was ranked as one of the vintages of the century. Perfect summer weather with judiciously timed rain and sun in June and July encouraged perfect ripeness from mid-September.
