Clay-limestone soils mean an even mix of Cabernet and Merlot, and the feeling overall is an attractively balanced mix of raspberry and blackberry fruits, all held together by a firm tannic frame. A little abrupt on the finish, but there is concentration through the palate and it's an enjoyable medium-term drinker. This is the first year for Château de Côme to be certified organic and they lost around two-thirds of the harvest to mildew, giving a low final yield of 20hl/ha.
